Back at the Bench: Leather, Bones & Creating Again

I’ve finally had a bit of time to sit down and actually make again.
And I didn’t realise how much I needed it.
After weeks of travel, markets, and constant movement, getting back to the bench felt grounding in a way that’s hard to explain.
Lately, it’s been a mix of leather bags and skull pieces.
Two completely different mediums — but somehow they both sit perfectly within Wyld.
The bags start as raw material.Leather that gets cut, shaped, stitched, and worked until it becomes something functional… but still full of character.
No templates that make them identical. No two ever come out exactly the same.
And then there are the skulls.
They’re rougher. More unpredictable. Each one holds its own shape, its own imperfections, its own story before I even touch it.
Working on them isn’t about perfection — it’s about leaning into what’s already there.
Letting the piece become what it wants to be.
There’s something about creating like this again — without rushing it — that brings everything back to why I started.
Not for mass production. Not for trends.
But for pieces that feel like something.
Also, just quietly — the Mother’s Day giveaway is still running in the background.
I haven’t pushed it heavily, which means entries are still lower than you’d expect for something of this value.
So if you’ve been watching along and haven’t entered yet, the odds are actually sitting pretty well right now.
I’ll be sharing more of these pieces over the next few days.
And if you see something you love — you already know…
Once it’s gone, it’s gone.
