The Reason We Came — Bracing for a New Chapter

The time has come.

The reason we made the journey to Adelaide — to get our beautiful Jasmine fitted for her scoliosis brace.

We were nervous, scared, and holding onto hope with everything we had. Without this brace, our only other option would be spinal surgery… and for Jasmine, with her Williams Syndrome, anaesthetic can be life-threatening. So this brace isn’t just a support for her spine — it’s a lifeline, and our way of doing everything we can to avoid surgery.

We met with the incredible Dr. Ella at ScoliCare Adelaide, who was kind, gentle, and endlessly patient. Jasmine, true to her music-loving soul, chose a brace covered in music notes — because of course she did. 🎵

There were some adjustments to make, a little extra padding to get it sitting just right, but Jasmine did so well. The moment she stood up, she had already grown half a centimetre taller — proof that even the smallest changes can make a big difference.

We’ve started slowly, working up in hourly increments — one to two hours a day, adding a little more each time, with the goal of reaching 22 hours of wear a day. It’s a big challenge, and we already see the battles ahead as Jasmine tries to remove it… but we won’t give up.

This is just another chapter in our Wyld journey — one of courage, resilience, and love. And if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that our girl’s spirit shines brighter than ever. 💫
